Member Spotlight
Daniel Tonche is our Game Room Coordinator. He is a Garden City native, born and raised here! Daniel has been a gamer for many years and a GPMS member for about two years. He is a Warhammer 40K enthusiast but also enjoys other games as well.
You may have seen Daniel at Menard’s where he is the electrical department manager. If you are at the store, he’d love you to stop by and say hi!
Daniel racks up the hobbies. Recently, he has been into reading, drawing (again), playing Marvel Rivals, and painting War-hammer miniatures. He has goals of making some desks for his home office and plans on hosting games of 40K and other game systems.

Cool Makes
One of our talented GPMS members is using her current hobby of 3D printing to save some time on game nights! Shonda Collins has printed and assembled a couple of card shufflers. She said that after all the printing and purchasing of a few extra bits, there was a bit of a learning curve with assembly. But she’s got it figured out and has given a few away as gifts!
It’s always cool to see what members make!
News and Happenings
Nerd Talk – This past July, GPMS brought back Nerd Talk! Nine years ago Jorge Mendoza organized the monthly talks. But when he moved away to further his education, Nerd Talk went on hiatus. That hiatus is over! Shannon Dick has been rallying local nerds to recreate the monthly series. It meets the second Monday of each month (during our Open House) in the Main Room. There are three speakers, each giving a 15-ish minute talk about a topic they like to nerd out about. The event is open to everyone and has had some awesome teas provided by Flourish!

Pivot Robotics – Back for another year, Pivot youth robotics program is up and running (sometimes literally). With over 50 local youth building, driving, and programming robots Tuesday and Thursday nights at the makerspace may get a little exciting.
